Government

http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.html?topicId=14580208398&sid=1

Healers are the government of WoW. Let me explain in the following points...

1. First one blamed, last one thanked. Whenever something good happens, it is business as usual, and they do not get thanked. Whenever something goes horribly wrong, people will often blame them first, often times without thinking of why things suddenly went south, or trying to locate the actual source of the problem.

EXAMPLES: A stupid hunter or mage standing in fire and dying on an Archimonde attempt, or an idiot shadowpriest running straight at a healer when they have Mana Bomb on them.

2. Make someone else do it. No one wants to be one or part of this group, and they certainly do not want to hear anything from this group, but when they are not around, nothing gets done. It also has an effect of people expecting everyone ELSE to do the job for them, or to save their butts when there is trouble, much like a bail-out.

EXAMPLE: "Hey, Johnny, we need you to respec Holy and heal tonight instead of being a tank," says the GM.
"The hell with that. Make someone else do it. I healed all the way up to level 30 pre BC and I think I have served my time. Make Steve-O respec healing," says Johnny the idiot DPS.
"He doesn't have any gear to heal with," the GM replies. "Looks like we will have to cancel the raid..."

3. Are expected to drop everything to immediately come to some poor idiot's aid, whether they need it or not. No matter what they are doing, these poor individuals are expected to come heal the most mundane instance or healbot the biggest pvp buffoon.

EXAMPLE: "Hey Mark, come heal this Regular Nexus for my Alt #5," says Johnny the idiot DPS.
"Um, I am kinda in this Naxx 10 man pug. We are tryin' to get the UNDYING achievement," says Mark.
"You are going to abandon me to a PUG? What kind of guildy.... no, what kind of FRIEND are you? I refuse to ever come to another raid that you are in," replies Johnny the idiot DPS, angrily. Johnny never raids again with Mark, soon complains about never getting any gear, and leaves the guild blaming everyone else for his problems. He is not missed as he was replaced the very next raid day after making this statement, BEFORE even g-quitting, by Davey the idiot DPS.

4. There never seems to be enough and nothing happens without them. The opening statement says it all.

EXAMPLE: "Raid canceled. Not enough healers. Please help us recruit more," Says the guild MOTD.
