Enchanted
this night is flawless, don't you let it go
i'm wonderstruck, dancing around all alone
i'll spend forever, wondering if you knew
i was enchanted to meet you
i'm wonderstruck, dancing around all alone
i'll spend forever, wondering if you knew
i was enchanted to meet you

True
50 years from now Christians will claim they were in lockstep with the gay rights movement all along. They'll list off names of priests and religious leaders who believed in homosexual equality, and that the movement could not have succeeded without Christian support. They'll tell us that the verses in the bible which say homosexuality is a sin were meant for Jews in that current time period, and homosexuality in the context of today is completely different, it's good. They'll remind us that people who were against the gay rights movement failed to understand the true meaning of the Bible, and those who doubt it still are a small irrelevant minority.
The current generation of believers will have no knowledge of past events, other then what their religious leaders tell them. "They're lying to you because they want to push you away from God!" they'll tell their flock. Why would a good Christian not believe in equality for all gods people? They'll quote scripture that proves that god loves each one of us, and to hate someone simply because they were born different, is to doubt his love. It'll make sense, they'll be reassured of their faith.
For those of us that grew up during this time, we'll know they're wrong. But after years of yelling at a brick wall you've grown tired and weary. And one day, someone who never knew what it was like, will come to your doorstep and tell you you're wrong. "But it was like that!" we'll exclaim. "They fought hard against gay rights, and made a lot of homosexuals lives hell." The young buck with the t on his chest can barely contain his laughter, "Next you're going to tell me Christians fought against the civil rights movement too!" You can't understand the bible until you've felt His love! He'll feel sorry for you. He'll look into your old tired eyes and wonder why old age has to take peoples minds with it. He doesn't know any better. He smiles at you, with a cocky smirk on his face that exudes unrelenting confidence in his beliefs.
You pause, unsure of how this conversation started. "Why are you at my doorstep again?"
"I'm here to tell you to vote yes on the law that keeps the aliens from going to human schools."
